Mount Rushmore

We made it to Mount Rushmore! Maryann and I flew on "free" tickets and Korilyn used some frequent flyer miles. We went to the lighting ceremony on Saturday and then we experienced it in the daylight the next morning only to turn around and fly back home. It was a quick trip, but a fun one. Next time I go I want to spend a little longer. It was nice to be out in the cool weather.

The Dakotas

Once we got in to Rapid City, South Dakota we took a drive to North Dakota. It was a six hour round trip and not as painful as you would think. As you can see from the pictures it was just a little windy. We saw all kinds of hunters and tons of dead dear, four of which were up close and personal. I think that makes 33 states for me. Anyone up for an Alaskan cruise?

Geographic Center of the Nation

Who would have thought that the geographic center of the nation is in South Dakota. Maryann saw it in the atlas and we found it along the way. There we were right in the middle, just goofing around. Maybe some day you can all be cool like us and go there too.

Our Dam Trip

We had a great time at the Hoover Dam, or more commonly known as Brandon's favorite dam. I think maybe I had the most fun because when I told the group I wanted to walk across, they told me I would have to find a new way home. I guess that just leaves something for me to do next time.
